Divorce Sparks Creativity

Some of you may or may not know that Donovan is currently going through what he calls a "bitter divorce." According to some credible sources close to the author, Donovan's husband recently announced he wanted a divorce after hooking up with a man the couple had both met a week prior. His husband then goes on to tell Donovan he didn't love him anymore and is not sure he ever did; OUCH!! Oh, and as if that were not bad enough Donovan's husband then confesses to cheating multiple times throughout the two's marriage!

Now I can not say with absolute certainty any of this is true, and the horror author is being pretty tight lipped about the whole thing. However, according to those close to him Donovan has been writing a lot of songs about heartbreak, love, and break-ups. As a matter of fact, we were able to get our hands on the lyrics to Donovan's latest song and it is AWESOME! It would also lead one to believe there might be a thread of truth the rumors. If the rumors are indeed true it would appear the horror author is doing what he does best and put his feelings down on paper. I will quit babbling now and share the lyrics with you and let you decide.

You're a Dick

Verse 1: I ran into your new love the other day. If he knew who I was he didn't say. We didn't talk about you. I never mentioned your name. I am thanking God those rumors are true, Yeah, your new flame? Well, he's ugly and lame.

Chorus: Well, I traded up, While you traded down. Your new boyfriend isn't the only fool in town. Does he really believe that you'll be true? You were cheating on me when you met that fool. That's right, that's when you met that fool.

Verse 2: A few weeks later I was out on the town. When I ran into you and your new clown. You two were dancing cheek to cheek. Meanwhile, your roving eyes were taking in the scene. I have to admit I kind of felt bad, cause truth be told it was really kind of sad. I don't care about the man, but even your new boyfriend deserves better than that.

Chorus: Well, I traded up while you traded down. Your new boyfriend isn't the only fool in town. Does he really believe that you'll true? Cause, you were cheating on me when you met that fool. Oh yeah, that's when you met that fool.

Bridge: I am one who believe in karma. I know it holds true. Oh, what you put out there will always come back to you. Oh, it always comes back to you

Chorus: well, I have since moved on and now you're all alone. I hear your boyfriend won't even answer his phone. Wow, I can't believe the boy caught on so quick. He has seen your true colors, and now he knows you're a dick. Yeah he's seen your true colors and he now knows, yes he now knows, he knows you're a dick!

Bye Felicia!

written by: Donovan Edwards (C) 2020

Now, that you have read those lyrics would you say there might be some truth to the rumors? If there is, then this song is an awesomely tactful way to burn the hell out of his ex! If it is just a song then Donovan is getting a bit more edgy with his song writing. Maybe the Sinicism from his book series has spilled over into his song writing and we can expect to see more of the edgy and dark side of Donovan Edwards?

More to come so stay tuned!
